The new...

I'm right there with many of you on this last day of 2012.

Feeling the rush of a new year starting tomorrow...

thinking of all the things I need a fresh start in and the thrill of possibilities in seeing goals realized.

What is it that is so captivating about the new?

new goals...

new job...

new baby...

new car...

new clothes...

new shoes...

new book :)...

new relationship...

new house...

The list could go on and on...

but eventually the new is not so new.

Who doesn't like the new car smell?

Then after days and years of use is not so 'present' anymore...

You know me, I love babies...

but babies grow up.

It's easy to love a newborn perfectly wrapped in a new white blanket

that hasn't given you their first eyeroll yet. :)

It's easy to love that new friend, or boyfriend, or spouse when the relationship just starts.

no unkind words spoken...

no issues to resolve.

Oh, to always live in the new...

There is a way you know...

it's just not "our" way.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come.  The old has gone, the new is here!

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

The prayer I'm finding in my heart these last few days is

"God give me a new heart."

A heart that isn't consumed with self.

A heart that is tender towards others.

A heart that is quick to respond in obedience.

One that isn't jaded by hurts.

One that loves others as You would.

And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you.  I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.

Ezekiel 36:26 (NLT)

So bring it 2013!

Looking forward to living out "IN Christ" all the new that this year will bring !

Hands up! (That's for you Pam!)
