What's your distraction?

For some of us the answer is obvious...

for some we're more like Eve.

You don't have to read far in the Bible to read about distractions.

The first 2 Chapters tell us about how male and female are created and given dominion over the earth. All is right with the world it seems.

Then the very next chapter starts off with the serpent coming to Eve.

We can see very clearly that our enemy doesn't waste anytime going after the divine destiny God has for us.

It's what he has done since the beginning.

Jesus tells us later in the book of John that the thief does not come except to steal, kill, and to destroy.

Those are some pretty intense words.

Funny how we lock doors on our houses and cars to prevent thieves from taking our "stuff."

Do we put the same thought and action toward guarding our hearts, minds and lives against the distractions the enemy is throwing at us?

We've got to remember our enemy is crafty. Sometimes it's easy for us to fall for his distractions because the distraction is disguised as "good."

Verse 6 in Genesis 3 says that when Eve saw the tree was good for food,

that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of it's fruit and ate.

That's how he gets us.

The distraction doesn't look like death, it actually looks good to us. So instead of standing on the truth that we know, we question it.
