S7 E8: The Invitation

Do you hear it?

The invitation

More than likely it’s not being shouted or in bright lights or showy

Typically it’s more of a whisper…

A drawing…

A tender pull towards something actually towards someone. Someone your heart and soul long for…

It’s an invitation in this season of hustle to live slow… and allow the breath of heaven to breathe life into us.

It can be a challenge to live slow in a fast pace world

It takes effort to turn down the volume, stop the mindless scrolling and fix our eyes and open our ears to hear the quiet oh so tender, and powerful whispers of our God.

It is funny. Funny isn’t the right word… it’s interesting is probably the better choice haha

But it’s interesting because I feel like when I sit down with a thought for a podcast episode I feel like it ends up being so intense sometimes. And I will mentally think … don’t be so intense you have a lighter side …let’s go in that direction next episode. And when whatever thought rises up… it feels intense coming up.

I guess I’m feeling the need to explain my thought process because I’m feeling extra intense these days.

This has been a year… pretty much from the start. January ended with some pretty major endings. And as painful and hard as those ending were they were met with unbelievable peace. 

And as life seems to be for most of us, this year has held painful moments and exhilarating growth and freedom for me personally.

And just went I felt I was settling in and feeling confident and secure I started hearing that invitation…

That invitation to deeper trust, deeper surrender, greater boldness greater love…

And to be totally honest I kind of wanted to bargain with God and assure him…  I’m good here, but I know how that goes 🙃

So I’m saying yes even if it feels scary.

I’m saying yes to fully stepping into all that he has for me even if I don’t have all the answers.

I’m saying yes to intentionally creating the space these next several weeks to hear his voice and feel his presence strengthening me for the next season.

So I guess what I’m wanting to say is …

Listen out for the invitation 

Receive it

Open it

Hold it close 

And run with it

And I along with a great crowd of witnesses will be cheering you on.

It’s the season of miracles friend.

Dare to believe and expect 

And hope in the one that is for you and forever faithful!
