Love isn’t a feeling

Love is a person

True + perfect love is what gave and gives you true life.

We learn about what love is from the world around us

When the truth is that perfect love can only be experienced by the one who breathed life into us.

As human beings love is most often equated to feelings and actions that make one deserving of love 

When those ideas couldn’t be further from the truth...

You are loved simply because…

You are loved because you are you

Because you’re life was God’s idea.

There’s nothing you can do to earn it…

The unbelievable, unconditional, never-ending love that he has for you.

All you can do is receive it…

And experience it.

When we receive and live in this perfect love our spirits awaken to all we truly are.

Love was never intended to be contained.

True love can’t be…

 It longs to be expressed 

To be shared and given away

Giving love reminds us who we truly are.

I love how The Message version of 1 John 4:18 shares about this perfect love…

God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home, and mature in us, so that we’re free of worry on Judgment Day—our standing in the world is identical with Christ. There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love. - 1 John 4:18 (MSG)

This scripture is such a powerful reminder of the power of love.

It’s powerful in that it’s supernatural, it transforms us.

And the more we live and make our home in God and his love the more fearless and free our lives will be

Love is fearless.

Because fear is the opposite of love.

Fear is what we experience when we have forgotten our true nature in Christ.

My prayer is that in this season of Valentine's celebrations and flowers and candy, you would feel wrapped up in perfect love.

You, beautiful one, are adored and treasured by the creator of the universe.

Receive it, experience it and live in it and give it away!
