S7 E14: Are Ready For A New Season? Susan Beth

Hey Hey Friend! I hope you are doing well!

I didn’t record an episode last week because as I’ve mentioned before I am not a multitasker and I’ve been in the final stretch of something I’m so excited to share with you today!

But first, can we just talk about the weather? Are we moving into Summer already?!? I’m kidding but I’m not kidding that it seems we just put up Christmas things and it’s going to be March this week!

And in just a few weeks we will officially be welcoming Spring!

This goes along with what I want to share with you today!

As you know talking about seasons is one of my very favorite things. And you can go back through these episodes through the years and see how there is a seasonal theme to the episodes.  Sometimes it was intentional but even when it wasn’t I always seem to go there. Because I never cease to be amazed at how the natural seasons we experience teach us so many things about the season of life we walk through. Talking about seasons never gets old to me and another thing that doesn’t get old for me is journaling.

And let me be clear I use the word journaling loosely. I use the phrase journaling because I think it is the closest to the general idea of what I do but I honestly would prefer to say writing. Because it’s looked different for me in different shall I say “seasons” haha. I’ve used dated books that record journal entries according to the day. And I’ve used notebooks and written in him whenever and however I want to. But honestly these days I have the books and notebooks and the pieces of paper that I grab to write what I need to at the moment.

I can only speak for myself but processing and expressing my thoughts and feelings through this act or process of writing has been such a blessing in my life.  I point out that this is my experience because I am well aware that we all process and move through life differently. And for the way I am wired, I can definitely see how beneficial it has been in my life. But I am pretty sure that even if this practice of journaling looks totally different in your life it will be beneficial to you as well.

So as I’ve mentioned the past several months I have been working on putting the online course SHE IS IN CHirst in book form and that’s still in the works. But as I was working on that what started to come together as a seasonal journal.

Even though I say I’m not good at multi-tasking I am what is referred to as “multi-passionate”. There are many things I put my hand to that I am passionate about and I can see how sometimes that could be confusing to people but it makes total sense to me because it’s all coming from the same source….it’s just different expressions.

And one of the biggest things I’m excited about with this journal is that it combines several passions into one thing.

This first seasonal journal will be available for the Spring 2023 season. The journal will guide you through each week of Spring with an art piece for each week. A weekly thought and journal prompts and space to write during the week.  There will also be a scan code on each weekly focus page that will take you to a resource page with podcast and video links as well as information about the art that is only available to those who purchase a journal.

When I received the proof and held it in my hands I felt such emotion.  I felt emotion for all the work and help I’ve received from my husband Ron and I also felt it because as I turned the pages seeing the words written as an invitation to many of you for experiencing and growing through the season in what God has for you.  I could not help but feel excited and expectant for all this next season holds for us.

If you receive emails from me then you are the first to get this information and if you aren’t on that list and want to be that info will be in the show notes.

I will be sharing how you can preorder your Spring Journal as soon as that information is available.

I would love to end with a prayer …

Father. We love you

And we thank you for the gift of seasons.

Help us to see you in the midst of whatever season we find ourselves in today.

Thank you for your faithfulness to us

We choose to trust and continue to look to you …

always
