S7 E21: Faithfulness In The Showing Up

See this content in the original post

I sure hope that wherever it is that you call home you are experiencing Spring!

I was reminded how much I love this season a few mornings ago as I was out walking. The air felt perfect.  It’s hard to describe but it’s just a different kind of feeling between feeling any cold or warm temperature. Perfect is the only way I can describe it.

I could feel the morning sun on my face and it felt like a big hug. It was a sweet feeling that made me extend my time walking because I know it was just a matter of time before I’ll walk out and immediately start to feel sweat beads popping up because of the humidity…so I’m savoring the milder temps of Spring knowing they won’t last forever…

I shared some pictures and some words on Instagram earlier in the week about a thought I had while making cards for 2 of my Granddaughter that had a dance performance this past weekend.

I was writing in ink so I was taking a few minutes gathering my thoughts on what I wanted to say to each of them before putting my pen to the card and instead of focusing on words praising them for the great job they did at their performance (which would have totally been speaking in faith at this point haha since the performance hadn’t even happened) and it would be the first performance for the younger granddaughter so her parents weren’t even 100 percent sure she’d make it to the stage.  (which she did!)

But instead of focusing on the performance I found myself telling each of them how proud I was that they show up at class each week and learned about dance and work hard at practicing what they are taught.

So even though in person I could go on about how proud I was of their performance on stage … what I really wanted to reinforce through the words they would hopefully read a few more times after the performance was how proud their Grandfather and I were they were faithful in the showing up week after week.

I think we oftentimes don’t celebrate that part enough and all of the focus is on the big day or meeting the goal when the goal would be met or the big day wouldn’t be successful without all the hours of showing up before that day.

I talk about this one of the weeks in the SHe is Awakening Spring Journal. How in the season of SPring where we are seeing beautiful things blossom and bloom we admire the new growth and beauty yet at the same time the growth and stretching that has already taken place and will continue should be celebrated and encouraged as well.

We were created to grow and bring forth fruit and there’s the responsibility we have in the showing up part but the fruit part is on God our creator.

There is such freedom in growing and stretching and maturing into all that God purposed for our lives. It’s not a place you have to strive to be fruitful in …all you need to do is stay planted and remain connected to your life source and the seed within you will produce what it was intended to from the beginning.

I would love to offer up a prayer for us today …

Father thank you for your faithfulness to our seeds and our seasons.

We choose to be faithful in remaining rooted and grounded in you.

Knowing that you are our life source

Our strength and nourishment for our spirits.

May we grow and mature and bear your image in the places and spaces you have called us to.

We love you

And we are looking to you…

always.
