In today’s episode, we’re looking at 1 Corinthians 2:16 which says “The unspiritual self, just as it is by nature, can’t receive the gifts of God’s Spirit. There’s no capacity for them. They seem like so much silliness. Spirit can be known only by spirit—God’s Spirit and our spirits in open communion. Spiritually alive, we have access to everything God’s Spirit is doing, and can’t be judged by unspiritual critics.”

Which leads me to the question are you living life from an unspiritual state or from God’s spirit within you?

As believers, we can hear from God. He wants to communicate with us Spirit to Spirit.

He is speaking are we listening?

A few weeks ago I started sensing a shift. I actually started feeling a heaviness and I’ve learned when I start feeling that way and there is nothing going on that would be making me feel that way there’s usually another reason. I started noticing a rise in angry posts on social media and a lot of fear-based posts and commentary. And I found myself praying against the spirit of fear.

As I was thinking about what I wanted to share today I was reminded of something from my days in Tennessee. Summers were hot and winter was cold! We did enjoy the occasional falling of snow even though it typically didn’t last that long unless it was a major winter storm blowing through.

So I do have some fun memories of playing in the snow, some of the funniest memories are about all the times as kids we would stay up late watching the latest news reports and praying fervently that school would be called off because of the “forecast” of snow. That was the great thing about being surrounded by ridges, hills, and mountains. Just the high probability of ice or snow could close things down for days and we were thrilled to be blessed with the gift of SNOW DAYS!

I’m telling you these things while I’m still living with you. The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to you. Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So don’t be upset. Don’t be distraught, yield to fear, or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!

Did you know There’s a reason you think and feel the way you do, You were wired to experience and move through life in a certain way?

God designed each of us internally with a unique personality, thoughts, feelings and dreams, and desires

Those qualities are the true seeds that God placed inside of you when you were being formed in your mother’s womb.

Are you ready to uncover the lies you are believing that are keeping you stuck spiritually?

In today’s episode, we are talking about how a contemplative practice such as journaling can help you connect with God in a deeper way.

During these practices of getting still and putting pen to paper, the Holy Spirit helps us discover lies that we have been believing and replace them with Truth.

I had the thought a few weeks ago about sharing a thought from my journal page for the month of July and wanted to invite you along in the July journal journey.

This leads me to the topic of today’s episode. 3 tools to hear God more clearly.

I’m guessing that many of you were like me and a few months ago thought by the time we got to Summer our world would be looking a lot different. And in some ways we would be right...it is definitely looking a lot different these days. The hope for somewhat “normal” Summer Days has dimmed which leads me to my thoughts today. Happy Spring friends!

Spring has a certain energy to it. An energy of awakening, new birth, clearing out, and creating space.
